Probleemstelling
The amount of wasted plastic is way too big. Every day world wide there comes 13000-15000 pieces of platic in the ocean, and every year 6.4 million tonnes of plastic are dumped in the ocean. The problem of the plastic soup itself is solved, but how can we get it away when there keeps coming plastic into the ocean. Maybe we shouldn't only solve the problem, but prevent it from starting over. That is what we do with our idea.

Oplossing
We have a solution for the plastic which comes in the plastic soup: the Plastic Separating Machine. You should hand in your plastic in a plastic bag, which you hang on the hook. This hook weights the plastic. If the plastic is weighted, the plastic bag falls on the conveyer belt and moves to the cutting machine, but if the bag weights more than 1 kilogram the hook will block and the bag can’t fall on the conveyer belt. When it does fall, the plastic falls from the conveyer belt into the cutting machine and gets cut in small pieces. When it’s cut, it falls in a box that filters all the different plastic pieces. The filter is a layer-system of water, oil and methanol. Then, there will be a net that fishes the different kinds of plastic out, and it will put it in different containers. The plastic is separated and can be re-used. You push on a bottom on the machine and get money for the plastic that you handed in. You get 1 Euro for 100 grams of plastic.
